- Tech Prep
is education geared to the twenty-first century.
- Tech
Prep links structured high school programs with two-year
technical programs at community and technical colleges to
prepare students for today's job market or to continue their
education at a 4-year institution..
- Tech
Prep blends academic and vocational/technical education
in a manner that exposes students to real-world applications
of communications, science, math, problem-solving, and critical
thinking.
- Tech
Prep graduates complete high school with a solid academic
and vocational, technical foundation, as well as a head
start towards an associate degree.
By making
advanced placement college credit available for graduates,
Tech Prep gives students a head start towards their associate
degree. Because Tech Prep graduates have been trained
to apply their knowledge and skills to solve work-related
problems, Tech Prep graduates enter the work-force prepared
for high-skill, high-paying jobs.
Tech Prep
is designed to increase the options available to students
after high school. Students are not locked into or out
of the Tech Prep course of study, rather, the program functions
as a guideline to help students prepare to meet the demands
of community college programs or today's technical job market.
